The Gathering Room is more than a just a hangout. It’s a deeply curated space where you can:
Connect with your intuition and inner wisdom
Hold each other with honesty, non-judgment, and kindness
Open your heart and show up as your authentic self
Gain a new perspective, nugget, or mindset shift, while finding common ground, challenging, and learning from each other
Move from overwhelm and disconnection to presence and intention—creating, laughing, singing, dancing, and maybe crying a little—or a lot!
Leave feeling seen, heard, and creatively recharged
Who’s The Gathering Room for?
This space is intentionally designed for adult women and non-binary folks who are seeking meaningful connection, creativity, and a safe space to belong. It’s not open to men at this time.
How are these gatherings different?
It’s not a networking event — it’s a place to land, share, and foster your creativity.
It’s not a big gathering — it’s intentionally small, 4 spots max per gathering.
It’s not just a hangout — it’s a facilitated container to meet new and old friends, without any pressure to compete, perform, or impress.
It’s not just an activity — it’s an invitation to ground, connect, and create something with your hands.
And it all takes place in a beautifully historic, warm, and unique space in downtown Calgary.
You’ll walk away with a deeper connection to yourself + other women, and a piece of art to take home.
What to expect
During each Gathering Room session, you can expect:
Arrival + settling in with a cup of tea
Introductions
Grounding
Space for connection via open sharing, facilitated conversations, and storytelling
Space for creation via art practices (drawing, coloring, painting, journaling, collage, etc.)
Integration
Access to a private WhatsApp group to stay connected between gatherings
The vibe: cozy hangout at your best friend's house + meaningful conversations and practices + groovy playlist. You’re welcome as you are—quiet, chatty, a seasoned creative, or “not an artsy person.”
Each month, we’ll choose a way to connect and a practice to create in community—no art experience required, just curiosity and openness.

We’ll gather in a circle on the floor, with floor cushions provided. If you know you need extra support to sit comfortably on the ground, feel free to bring additional cushions or blankets.

Nope! While we invite you to come as you are to connect and share, each gathering is carefully planned and facilitated with intention. You can expect grounding practices, meditations, guided reflections and games, and creative art practices designed to foster presence, connection, and personal insight.

Yes. Adults only, please. However, if you’d like to bring your teenage kid, for example, you are welcome to do so as long as you come along as their guardian.

We’ll gather on the last Thursday of every month, unless specified otherwise.

Absolutely! We’ll have at least one floor cushion per person, but you are welcome to bring anything else you might need for comfort (bolster, extra cushions, pillows, etc.). If you have specific accessibility needs, email me at nita@nitascoloringbook.com, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you!

🚊 Transit: The building is near 1st St and 3rd St C-Train stations. I highly recommend using transit if you can because parking downtown at this time can be tricky.
🚗 Parking:
Use street parking (weekday evenings are generally free after 6 pm, but double-check the signs!). Check 1st St SW, 9th Ave and 10th Ave SW.
Some paid parking options (pretty cheap in the evenings):
Lot 7 (208 9 Ave SW) - Surface lot right next to the building!
Lot 25, City Centre Parkade (221 9 Avenue SW) - Covered, ~3 min walk
Lot 26 (307 1 Street SE) - Surface lot, ~10 min walk
